30 October 2024, Finland - H.E. Ambassador of the Philippines Maria Lumen B. Isleta, met with leaders and members of the Filipino community, on Tuesday, 22 October 2024, in Helsinki, Finland, as part of the former’s exit calls in Finland.
During the meeting, Ambassador Isleta conveyed the re-establishment of the Embassy of the Philippines in Finland and thanked the Filipino community for their support and cooperation. Ambassador Isleta also requested the FilCom members to provide the same support to the newly-established Embassy of the Philippines in Finland and the incoming Philippine ambassador to Finland.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the situation of Filipino workers in Finland as well as updates with respect to Finland’s Talent Boost Programme, the possibility of a Philippines-Finland Bilateral Labour Agreement, and the upcoming visit of Minister of Employment Arto Satonen to the Philippines. During the meeting, Ambassador Isleta thanked the ASEAN Ambassadors in Helsinki for their invaluable support and for including the Embassy of the Philippines in Stockholm, when possible, in activities carried out by the Committee such as meetings with various Finnish government officials.
Ambassador Isleta also requested that the same support be extended to the officials and incoming ambassador of the newly-opened Helsinki PE. END
