Chargé d’affairés, a.i. Gines Jaime Ricardo D. Gallaga met with Mr. Shisher Kumra and Mr. Vaibhav Diwan, both members of the Governing Council of the Regulatory Representatives and Managers Association (RRMA) on 05 March 2025 (Wednesday) in Stockholm, Sweden.
RRMA, established in 2021, is a non-profit organisation that represents service providers and supports industries and businesses in complying with the regulatory requirements, which in turn helps them meet global expectations efficiently. It is a membership-based association that promotes understanding of chemical compliance and capacity building for industries.
Mr. Kumra and Mr. Diwan presented the planned Asian Chemicals Forum (ACF) 2025, slated to be held on 08 to 09 October 2025, in Mumbai, India and their invitation for the Philippines to be a partner country to the said initiative. They also relayed their experiences in organising the Helsinki Chemicals Forum (HCF) and the inaugural ACF 2023. Both sides also discussed the nuances and developments in chemicals regulations in different countries. END
Chargé d’affairés, a.i. Gines Jaime Ricardo D. Gallaga together with the other members of the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm met with Ms. Camilla Mellander, Director General for Trade Policy, Ministry for Foreign Affairs on 26 February 2025 (Wednesday) in Stockholm, Sweden.
Both sides discussed the economic cooperation between ASEAN and the EU, as well as ASEAN and Sweden. Sweden underscored its support for the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between the EU and ASEAN countries, as well as the importance of predictability and stability in the systems, to ensure the free trade flows. The ACS was also given the opportunity to pose questions with respect to Sweden’s views on developments in the EU and the global stage.
Director General Mellander previously served as Ambassador of Sweden to Viet Nam. END

During the meeting, both sides discussed Philippine foreign policy and regional developments in the Asia Pacific region.
The Swedish Defence Research Agency or FOI is one of Europe’s leading research institutes in defence and security. Their works are used as references by different Swedish government agencies, particularly those involved in crafting defence and foreign policies. END
