H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto paid out a courtesy call on Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard, on 04 June 2025 (Wednesday), at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the growing bilateral relations between the Philippines and Sweden, particularly with respect to trade and investment. They expressed the hope for the early completion of the Philippines-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to allow both countries to forge stronger economic ties.

Ambassador Chuasoto and Foreign Minister Stenergard also exchanged views on the state of regional security in Europe and Southeast Asia, as well as the recent developments in world trade.

Foreign Minister Stenergard assumed her position on 10 September 2024, after having previously served as Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy from 2022 to 2024. She has also been a Member of the Riksdag since 2014. END
