H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto visited the ASYA Store, on 27 May 2025 (Tuesday), in Linköping, Sweden.
ASYA store was founded in May 2015 and recently celebrated its 10th year anniversary. The store’s owner, Ms. Joevy Macapagas Saria, recounted how she started the business and expressed her strong commitment to bringing authentic Filipino-Asian food and a taste of home to Sweden.
Both sides also discussed ways that may facilitate lower cost in bringing Philippine products to Sweden, particularly agricultural products.
ASYA Store also operates a branch in Täby, Stockholm. END
H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto paid a courtesy call on Mr. Olle Burell, President of City Council of Stockholm, on 28 May 2025 (Wednesday), in Stockholm, Sweden.
During the meeting, Mr. Burell welcomed Ambassador Chuasoto as the newest member of the diplomatic corps in Sweden and shared some insights with respect to Sweden. Ambassador Chuasoto also shared his plans to expand economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Both sides discussed the growing ties between the Philippines and Sweden, and between Europe and ASEAN. Mr. Burell noted that the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm (ACS) is one of the more active regional groupings and commended the ACS for its activities to promote the region in Sweden, including through the ACS Trade and Food Fair.
Mr. Burell also gave Ambassador Chuasoto a tour of the Stockholm City Hall, which will be celebrating its 102nd anniversary in 2025. END
H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto met with H.E. Ilse Ruse, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Sweden, on 28 May 2025 (Wednesday), in Stockholm, Sweden.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the accreditation of Ambassador Chuasoto to Latvia as well as the growing ties between the Philippines and Latvia. Ambassador Chuasoto also shared his plans of expanding bilateral engagements and links in the political, economic, and socio-cultural spheres.
The Philippines and Latvia celebrated thirty years of diplomatic relations in 2021. END
H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto invited the LakBai Guitar Duo to perform at the diplomatic reception held to celebrate the 127th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence Day, on 23 May 2025 (Friday), at the Embassy of the Philippines.
The Lakbai Guitar Duo - Ms. Jennifer A. De Vera and Mr. Jeffrey S. Malazo, is a guitarist couple from Pilipinas Got Talent Season 6 contest. They performed all over the Philippines, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Korea, and the USA.
During the reception, Jenny and Jeff serenaded the audience with Filipino songs entitled: “Nais ko, Cariñosa, and Minamahal Kita”. Guests were visibly appreciative of the duo’s guitar performance of “Libertanggo, Winter is Coming, Hotel California, Abba Medley, Diablo Rojo, and Iisang Bangka”.
