H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto carried out a courtesy call on Mr. Aron Emilsson, Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Riksdag, on 03 June 2025 (Tuesday), in Stockholm, Sweden.
During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations between both countries as well as regional issues in both regions, as well as international trade. Both sides also discussed the Committee on Foreign Affairs’ visit to Manila in March of this year, which the Committee members found positive and very substantive. END
H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto joined the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the EuroAsian Dance Group (EADG) on 31 May 2025 (Saturday), in Täby, Sweden.
The EuroAsian Dance Group was created in 1995 by Ms. Ditas Enström (also the current President of the Group), a member of Yanta-Aw Cultural Dance Troupe of Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte in the Philippines. Also, still a senior member under Artistic Director Mr. Emmanuel M. Lansang and a former member of Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group. What started as a small group of passionate dancers who aimed to bring joy to audiences through their performance of Philippine and other Asian dances, the EuroAsian Dance Group has evolved into active participants in various events, including cultural festivals in Stockholm.
For this year’s celebration, the EADG members performed Philippine folk dances and modern dances to the delight of the crowd. They also danced to music provided by the LakBai Guitar Duo - Ms. Jennifer A. De Vera and Mr. Jeffrey S. Malazo - a guitarist couple from Pilipinas Got Talent Season 6 contest. They have performed around the Philippines as well as in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Korea, and the USA.
LakBai Guitar Duo also performed in a concert in Västerås, Gothenburg and in Haugesund, Norway. END
H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto met with Mr. Joey Laguidao, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder, Intelium Engineering AB, on 26 May 2025 (Monday), in Linköping, Sweden.
During the meeting, Mr. Laguidao provided a briefing on the work of Intelium and its intent of having Filipino engineers and software developers in the team as well as his plans of opening a company in the Philippines. The Embassy conveyed its openness to advise and assist Mr. Laguidao should he decide to pursue his plans of expanding his consultancy firm in the Philippines. END
H.E. Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto met with the Chamber of Commerce of East Sweden (Östergötland), led by Mr. Simon Helmér, Chief Executive Officer, on 27 May 2025 (Tuesday), in Linköping, Sweden.
Invited member companies of the Chamber were given an opportunity to present their companies. The Embassy also gave a presentation on the Philippines, including the country’s key economic priority areas. Both sides also discussed areas for possible cooperation and investment in the Philippines.
Mr. Helmér invited Ambassador Chuasoto to return to Östergotland soon. END
