Alferez on 01 September 2023, a Filipino Scholar from the Department of National Defense (DND), who is undertaking her Master’s in International Operational Law at the Swedish Defense University in Stockholm, Sweden, through a scholarship from the Swedish Institute. 09 October 2023 - H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta joined other Asia-Pacific Ambassadors during a visit to Mariefred, Södermanland County on 06 October 2023.
The Ambassadors visited Gripsholm Castle, which was one of the royal residences from the 1500s until the 18 century. The castle now serves as a museum that houses several paintings and other works of art. Later that day, they were joined by Ambassador Niclas Kvarnström, Director for Asia, Latin America, and Pacific Region at the MFA, who hosted a dinner at Gripsholm’s Värdshus (Pub).
In attendance were the Ambassadors of Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Viet Nam, as well as other MFA officials. END.
11 October 2023 - H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta joined other ASEAN Ambassadors during a courtesy call on Mr. Olle Burell, President of Stockholm City Council on 11 October 2023.
After the call, the ASEAN Ambassadors were given a guided tour of the historic City Hall, which was built using the designs of Ragnar Östberg. The City Hall is celebrating its centennial anniversary this year since it was inaugurated on 23 June 1923. END.
03 October 2023, Stockholm - H.E. Ambassador of the Philippines Maria Lumen B. Isleta hosted a dinner in honor of Undersecretary Ireneo C. Espino, who headed a delegation from the Department of National Defense (DND) that visited Sweden from 01 to 04 October 2023.
The delegation carried out meetings with officials of the Ministry fo Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence to discuss security issues of mutual concern to both sides. END
