31 October 2023 - H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta met with several Filipino Community leaders in Malmö on Friday, 27 October and Sunday, 29 October 2023 with the objective of strengthening linkages with the different Filipino Community associations and groups in the region, informing them of upcoming Embassy activities such as the Info Caravan webinar series and consular outreach mission in Gothenburg during the month of November.

31 October 2023 - H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta met Ms. Carina Nilsson, Chairman of the City Council in Malmö, Sweden, on Friday, 27 October 2023 and discussed matters of mutual interest such as the city’s demand for healthcare workers and its initiatives concerning sustainability and developing a circular economy.
Ambassador Isleta was given a tour of the City Hall by Mayor Nilsson herself, followed by a typical Swedish fika (Swedish coffee/tea).

31 October 2023 - H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta met Mr. Tom Erixon, Chief Executive Officer of Alfa Laval in Lund, Sweden, on Monday, 30 October 2023.
Mr. Erixon provided a brief overview of the operations of Alfa Laval in the Philippines as well as the company’s future plans in the country. Both sides also discussed possible areas of cooperation, including in the field of energy, and science and technology, and the recent launching of StormGeo’s office in Manila.
A tour of the company’s production site in Lund, considered one of the biggest in the area, was also carried out for the appreciation of the Ambassador.
Alfa Laval Philippines Inc., is a part of Alfa Laval Southeast Asia. The company has been present in the Philippines since 1986 to focus on servicing the growing domestic market in various sectors including fruit-processing, sugar, and sanitary..

31 October 2023 - H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta met with Filipino students and attended the graduation ceremony of the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmö, Sweden, on Friday, 27 October and Saturday, 28 October 2023, respectively. The WMU is led by its Filipino President Maximino Mejia Jr., formerly head of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) in the Philippines and himself an alumni of the WMU.
Ten (10) Filipino students representing various agencies in the Philippines such as the Philippine Coast Guard, MARINA and the Maritime Academy for Asia and the Pacific graduated with the class of 2023. The graduating Filipino students garnered three (3) academic awards. For the incoming class of 2024, nine (9) Filipino students have been accepted.
