22 December 2023, Stockholm – Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Gines Jaime Ricardo D. Gallaga and Ms. Moira Gallaga, together with the Philippine Embassy’s staff attended the Missionary Families of Christ (MFC) Sweden Christmas Party 2023 held at the Saray Restaurang Kista in Stockholm, Sweden, on Saturday, 09 December 2023.
During his remarks, DCM Gallaga expressed his appreciation to the officers and members of the MFC Sweden for the invitation and commended them for their services in various church activities such as providing the music in various Sunday masses, organizing retreats, bible studies, to mention a few. He also underscored that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, whose conception was deemed a miracle, and not merely about gift giving.
The festivities included a dinner banquet and culminated with performances from the MFC members. END.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the long-standing diplomatic and economic relations between the Philippines and Sweden. Ambassador Isleta and Ms. Rydberg also discussed possible collaboration between the Embassy and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce that would allow Swedish businesses to be more familiar with the Philippines as an economic hub and as a viable destination for Swedish business. Both sides also discussed ongoing and other planned activities that aim to build on the resurgent trade and economic cooperation between both countries. END.
