Philippine Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources MARIA ANTONIA YULO LOYZAGA visited the Falu Mine on 01 April 2025, located in Falun, Dalarna County, Sweden.

Secretary Loyzaga and members of the Philippine delegation were welcomed by Dalarna Governor HELENA HÖIJ. After a brief introduction on Dalarna County and the Falu Mine, the Philippine delegation were given a tour of the Falu Mine, which operated from the 10th century AC up to 1992 and was subsequently designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.

The visit to the Falu Mine is part of the activities organised for the Philippine delegation, who are visiting Sweden with the aim of gaining insights on Swedish best practices in sustainable mining, mining safety and innovation, and exploring possible areas of cooperation and investments in advanced technologies and research.  END
