30 August 2024 - H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta met with Global Child Forum Representatives, Mr. Sean O’Shea, Head of Corporate Engagement and Mr. Matthew Goodwin, Head of Sustainable Investing, on 28 August 2024 (Wednesday), at the Philippine Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden.
Global Child Forum provided a briefing on their activities, including hosting international fora, coming-up with benchmarks, webinars, and creating tools and services that are focused on fostering environments where children’s rights are respected and promoted. They also provided a briefing on their activities in the Philippines.
Apart from their activities in the Philippines they also reported on the active participation of various Philippine companies in the Benchmarking activity, which they happily reported, has earned for the Philippine PLDT group a 2nd overall ranking. Some 2,000 companies worldwide representing various sectors have participated in the activity. Other Philippine companies that have fared well in the rankings include Globe, Century Pacific Food, Universal Robina, Jollibee and San Miguel Food and Beveragges.
Global Child Forum is a nonprofit organization established by the Swedish Royal Family in 2009, dedicated to advancing children’s rights in alignment with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Her Majesty Queen Sylvia, in particular, has spearheaded the organization of activities for the Forum. The source of funding comes from the corporate sector, which supports the organization with both financial resources and expertise. END
