24 May 2024 - H.E. Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta, together with the other members of the ASEAN Committee in Stockholm met with Swedish Immigration Agency (Migrationsverket) Director General Ms. Maria Mindhammar on 22 May 2024, at the Migrationsverket Office in Sundbyberg, Sweden.

The two sides discussed the implementation of new Swedish migration policies; challenges and issues faced by ASEAN community members such as domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual harassment as well as preventive measures and solutions; strategies to address issues with respect to seasonal workers, and berry pickers; and lines of communication between ASEAN embassies and Migrationsverket.

This is the first meeting between ASEAN Ambassadors and Director General Mindhammar since the latter assumed her post on 18 September 2023. END.
